     Hemofarm

The factory for the production of pharmaceutical, chemical and disinfection agents under the name Hemofarm was founded in Vršac on June 1, 1960.

Today, it is a Group consisting of the parent company and 15 subsidiaries, eight of which are in the country, and others are abroad.

Hemofarm has been recording ever better results in the domestic and foreign markets – through classic export, as well as through different forms of co-operation, technology transfer and establishment of local productions in other countries. Ambition of the Group is to specialize in the activities which it performs, to expand its presence abroad and to develop into a multinational company.

:: BYK Gulden, in co-operation with Hemofarm, has launched the drug Pantoprazole to the Yugoslav market under the name Controloc.

Pantoprazole is a substituted benzimidazole derivative which inhibits proton pump (H+/K+-ATP) in parietal cells of gaster, thus inhibiting secretion of HCL. Pantoprazole is vigorously activated in the acid gaster environment as other IPP, but it is chemically more stable than omeprazole and lansoprazole in neutral and mildly acid environment. This results in more distinct selectivity of pantoprazole to H+/K+-ATP of parietal gaster cells.
